Wayanad Adventure Race: Monsoon adventure in Kerala’s Western Ghats

Wayanad, Kerala’s emerald escape, is where monsoon magic meets untamed nature. Located high in the Western Ghats, Wayanad’s misty hills, dense forests, and hidden trails come alive when the rain arrives. In this raw, wild terrain — adventure finds its true home. In the heart of Kerala’s Western Ghats lies a land wrapped in mist, drenched in rain, and bursting with life Wayanad.

On 13th July 2025, Wayanad will host its first-ever Wayanad Adventure Race, a 30KM promo Edition to let everyone experience the beauty of Wayanad. A sport known as World’s Toughest Team Sport where athletes whether solo or in teams of two, will cycle through tea estates, hike in rain-soaked trails, run trails paths, and navigate through the unpredictable monsoon wilderness. Hosted by NthAdventure in collaboration with Wayanad Tourism Organization, this event isn’t just about finishing — it’s about discovering your never giving up attitude, team spirit and endurance.

The Wayanad Adventure Race isn’t only on the trail. It’s also on the table. After pre-race briefing and Navigation Workshop on July 12th, racers will gather for a traditional Kerala Sadya a grand vegetarian feast served on a banana leaf. This isn’t just dinner; it’s heritage. With over 20+ dishes including Avial, Thoran, Olan, Pachadi, and the iconic Payasam, Sadya celebrates unity, culture, and gratitude. It’s a meal shared by warriors before the storm — rich in flavor, tradition, and heart.

The Pranavam Resort, the Race HQ, is an intimate, ancestral retreat surrounded by coffee plantations. Once gifted by Pazhassi Raja, and now a boutique heaven, Pranavam is where history, hospitality, and majestic views come together. After the race, it becomes a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect — with nature and with yourself.

The Wayanad Adventure Race is proudly supported by Wayanad Tourism Organization (WTO) WTO is working towards taking meaningful steps that lead to growth of tourism in Wayanad. This involves innovative and professional management of the Wayanad brand, and development of Wayanad’s tourism resources and capabilities. WTO is fostering a culture of ‘responsible and sustainable tourism’ in Wayanad. This includes greater sensitivity to local ecological and social concerns.
