Arunachal Pradesh Tourism along with NthAdventure and International Race Directors Heidi Muller and Stephan Muller invite you all to the Adventure Racing World Series Qualifier for 2026 in MECHUKHA, Arunachal Pradesh to Adventure Race like NEVER BEFORE.
High in the Himalayas, situated amid breathtaking beauty, lies the enchanting hamlet of Mechukha. Cradled 6,000 feet above sea level in the eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh, Mechukha (also known as Menchukha) offers a captivating blend of nature, culture, and adventure. The name ‘Menchukha’ itself whispers stories of the land.
In the local dialect, Mechukha or Menchukha, which is made of three words: “Men” means “medicinal”, “Chu” means “water” and “Kha” means “ice”. The melted glacial water flowing through the valley is believed to possess healing properties.
A "Border Adventure Race" into the heart and soul of India only for the brave and kind as the journey in itself is an EXPERIENCE than the Destination.

The Adventure Racing World Series (ARWS) is a global platform uniting professional adventure races in iconic locations to serve a worldwide community of adventurers and endurance athletes. The series includes over 80 events on 6 continents in 2025.

A different race hosts the AR World Championship each year and the series consists of Qualifier, Regional and Stage races. Qualifiers are non-stop expedition length races of 3-10 days. The top premier mixed team of 4 in a Qualfier race receives a free place in the World Championship.

Regional races in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Africa and Oceania are accessible, weekend races (one day to 48 hours) and can provide a pathway towards expedition racing and competing in ARWS Qualifiers and World Championships.

About the Sport "Adventure Racing"

Adventure racing is a multi-discipline endurance sport where competitors compete in teams, navigating from control point to control point in several disciplines.

Disciplines include mountain biking, trekking, kayaking, orienteering and many other adventure sports disciplines

Teams are expected to navigate using a map and compass.

Teams must be able to operate in harsh remote environments in all weather conditions.

Teams travel throughout the night. They can decide if, when, and where to rest or eat and proceed.

The first team to complete the whole course, with all the control points visited without any support will be declared the winner.

Teams are required to complete the entire distance together (always within hearing and visual distance of each other), helping and assisting each other.

Teamwork and team dynamics are essential. A detailed understanding of your teammates and of your own capabilities is essential and key in the race.
