Aritra Roy

An IT Support Engineer by profession and a certified Mountaineer from the beautiful state Tripura in Northeast. Grew up in a sports loving family, from father being a football coach of the state, found his love in the mountains. Adventurer by heart, love being outdoors and pushing my limits through different endurance activities when not in expeditions. Adventure racing happened to me by luck when i was scrolling through instagram. It was truly an experience of a lifetime, not only does it teach you to work as a team but individual attention to small clues and details is what it takes to reach the finish line. Being first timers, our goal was not to quit but to complete the route and gain the wonderful experiences that the route had in store for us.  The shift of digital navigation to a paper map just like old days sounds so simple yet so arduous but thats the fun. That is when the brain functions in its prime zone, senses come alive and the teams flow like the clean streams. Life is out there after the gates of AR open.

Events proud to have been part of & initiatives:

• Member of a cycling team of 20 to Bangladesh during October 2023 from Tripura, spreading the message of Anti Drug and Pollution awareness (Indo-Bangla Friendship ride)

• Led a team of 4 and successfully completed the National Adventure Race championship held in Goa in September 2023.

• Successfully completed the 1st edition of Guwahati Half Marathon in 2 hours in December 2023 and Tata Ultra Marathon in February 2024

• Through every expedition and adventure, promoting initiatives of sustainable travelling named “Zero Trash Trails” which is to travel litter free respecting and maintaining the ecosystem.

• Have been a part of CARRY ME BACK program which brought back 80000 kilos of waste from Everest region. 

Future Dreams:

Preparing to climb all the 7 summits around the world and simultaneously attempt to break the world record at climbing them in the least possible time. Recently trained from Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and have also become the 1st person from my state to have climbed Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Elbrus. Presently focussing towards training and connecting with sponsors who can help me realize this ground breaking dream.

Outdoor drawn kid from school day to being excelling and exploring the world of adventure sports. Represented school at district level under various competitions to exploring the wilderness, finding solace and purpose in nature's embrace. What began as casual running evolved into a fascination into ultra-running.

• Awarded Asia Book of records and India Book of Records for running "Daily 21 Kms in barefoot continuously for 25 days" to create awareness about CPR

• Certified surfing instructor with ISA/ISL from Mantra Surf Club

Introduced to adventure racing by a friend, I found himself captivated by its multifaceted challenges. Participating in first a 60 km race, secured third place and realized the immense potential of adventure racing to combine all his passions under one thrilling umbrella. Proud to be part of the Ambassador program, I am committed to elevating this sport to new heights.

His journey through the outdoors has been one of discovery, challenge, and growth. From childhood games to high-altitude expeditions, each experience has shaped him into the adventurer he is today. With a heart full of passion and a spirit of exploration, look forward to embracing new adventures and sharing the joy of outdoor living with others.

Sarunlal Choyyan

Captain of the First premier Adventure Racing team from Kerala. Avid biker, cyclist, Footballer, off-road and adventure enthusiast promoting sporting culture in Kerala

Represented his state at various national and international level under various sports and won various accolades.

His team focuses on building awareness on sports and conducts various outdoor activities for Schools and University. He aims at creating more athletes from Kerala to represent in adventure sports.

Dr. Kavya S

A Paediatrician by profession who loves to trek and cycle. Having completed nine Himalayan treks so far and some in the Western Ghats (Sahyadris) and participated in two 60km adventure races with NthAdventure has given her more interest towards adventures. She has been part of a wildlife conservation program and multiple navigational and kayaking workshops. Certified in Emergency Care and Life Support (ECLS) including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR); been part of events with ALAG (All Ladies Adventure Group) that encourages more women to take up outdoor sports.

Loves to read books on fiction and self-help; interested in volunteering for social causes, yoga, astronomy and solo travelling; is part of a running club and is learning swimming. Enthusiastic about anything adventurous, trying to get better at her abilities and skills every day, believes in mindfulness and gratitude, open to learning new things and new experiences in the world of adventure racing, and hoping to enjoy it all and to grow with her team.
